History Periods of Vintage Jewelry

There are many eras or decades that have helped define and create vintage jewelry. Within each decade or era, new jewelry designs have been created and are even replicated today. The Georgian, Early Victorian, Mid-Victorian, Late Victorian, Arts and Crafts era, Art Nouveau, Edwardian, Art Deco and Retro are the most popular vintage jewelry periods. Jewelry from the Georgian Era is handmade which means that the quality of each piece of jewelry can vary. Another aspect of this era was that precious stones were popular in Georgian jewelry design. Georgian jewelry is one of the rarest jewelry available today. Nowadays, most of the people seek to purchase antique rings from the Georgian Era for this very reason. In the early 1900s, the jewelry design during this time was made up of expensive gemstones to make designs elaborate and intricate. After this there was a period of Art Deco jewelry which was influenced by African, Egyptian and Japanese themes. At last there was the Retro jewelry period of the forties which was inspired by Hollywood.  All these eras are known for vintage jewelry which includes vintage rings, antique rings, etc. And the best part of it all, is that even though you might not be able to find jewelry from each of these eras, you can still find some of the most authentic and well-valued jewelry of our times over the internet that are a reflection of these eras gone by.
